     Chronological aging is due to the passage of time, reduced hormone production and fluctuations in hormone levels, less moisture, and slower metabolism and circulation. Skin becomes thinner, drier, and less firm as its support layers are reduced from decreased production of collagen cells. Fine lines, crows feet  and wrinkles appear as skin loses its elasticity and a dry, dull, uneven texture and loss of radiance may occur.  Bruises seem to show up out of nowhere and any cuts or abrasions to the skin seem to take forever to heal.  It seems like every lotion you apply to your face or body just disappears into the skin!

     Environmental aging is due to daily assaults on the skin such as the harmful UV rays of the sun, pollution, impaired health or dangerous personal habits like poor nutrition, smoking, excess caffeine, alcohol and drugs.  These aggressors create free radicals that attack skin cells, damaging their structure and diminishing the skin’s natural ability to repair itself. Damaged skin cells become so fragile that they literally leak fluids.   These fluids contain the precious water, oxygen and nutrients vital to the health and appearance of the skin.  In fact, research indicates that environmental damage can cause as much as 80% of the visible signs of aging.

     A hallmark characteristic of mature skin is a slowdown in the production of new cells to replace rapidly accumulating dry and damaged cells.  Even dry, sensitive skin types should use an appropriate method of exfoliation to stimulate cell production by removing surface debris and dead cells.  If you also have hyper-pigmented regions of skin, these will temporarily darken as those damaged melanin cells migrate quickly to the surface to be shed.  Then one day you look in the mirror and your skin has a clear even brightness to it!

Razzleberry Face Wash - lathering, deep cleaning, deliciously fragrant liquid cleanser for all skin types!  Contains 3% Salicylic Acid, 2% L-lactic Acid, Spin Trap, Raspberry Extract, Lime/Grapefruit Essential Oils for antiseptic, skin smoothing and chirally correct properties.  You may wonder why you need a sophisticated wash like Razzleberry when everything will be rinsed away anyway.  However, with skin care, things are never that simple.  In the 15 seconds or so that the wash will be on your skin, it will remove impurities and unclog pores while preserving the skin's pH balance and structure.  Then it prepares your epidermis for the next step in your skin care program.     Because a wash has to be carefully balanced, you will find in it shea butter, the oil obtained from the seeds of Butyrospermum parkii, together with lactic and salicylic acids.
